Roma offre sempre moltissime occasioni per avvicinarsi al mondo dell’arte. Occasioni che colgo sempre volentieri, difatti non potevo lasciarmi sfuggire la Klimt Experience, la mostra d’arte multimediale che celebra il padre della Secessione viennese.
Benché le mostre multimediali siano sempre controverse, per la disomogeneità di pareri che generano, devo ammettere che questa è stata organizzata davvero bene. Il percorso si compone di 2 stanze, più un piccolo anti ingresso dove vengono riportate su schermi le informazioni principali della vita dell’artista. Il vero cuore dell’Experience è la sala successiva, in cui si viene trasportati nel mondo di Klimt a 360°, poiché infatti sulle 4 pareti vengono proiettati, in movimento, i capolavori dell’artista. Il tutto accompagnato dalle musiche di Strauss, Mozart, Wagner, Lehàr, Beethoven e Bach, che fanno davvero immergere nell’atmosfera della Vienna della Secessione, e amplificano la bellezza dei dipinti, portando a una sinestesia totale tra immagini e suoni.

L’universo di Klimt può essere definito un gineceo, da cui l’uomo viene completamente escluso. Come ci si rende subito conto entrando nella sala, la donna è l’ossessione dell’artista, e viene ritratta in ogni sua forma, da bambina a adulta, da dea ellenica a figura biblica. Essa diviene l’incarnazione dell’eros, potenza misteriosa attraverso la quale l’uomo può conosce il mondo e l’inconscio. La donna è guida della natura e iniziatrice alla realtà del cosmo.

L’ultima sala, la Sala degli Specchi, offre ai visitatori un’esperienza affascinante – sembra davvero di entrare in uno specchio e perdere totalmente il senso dello spazio –, ma la vera chicca sono le opere originali esposte, e gli abiti ispirati alle texture dei quadri di Klimt, creati dall’artista stesso.

La mostra sarà a Roma fino al 10 giugno 2018, quindi non perdete l’occasione di fare un tuffo nella magica atmosfera della Vienna di inizio ‘900 e di riempirvi gli occhi di sfumature d’oro!
Rome always offers many opportunities to come into contact with the world of art. Opportunities which I seize with great pleasure, like the Klimt Experience, the multimedia exhibition celebrating the father of the Vienna Secession movement. I couldn’t miss it!
Although multimedia exhibitions are always a controversial topic, due to the divergent opinions people have on them, I must admit that this one was perfectly organized. The itinerary includes 2 main rooms, plus a little entrance where pieces of information about Klimt’s biography are showed on screens. The real core of the Experience is the next room, where visitors can totally immerse themselves in the world of Klimt, since his masterpieces are projected on the 4 walls, moving in a circle around them. The whole Experience is accompanied by the music of Strauss, Mozart, Wagner, Lehàr, Beethoven, and Bach, which helps visitors immerse themselves in the historical context of Vienna during the Secession movement and also enhances the beauty of the paintings, leading to a total synaesthesia of images and sounds.

Klimt’s universe can be defined as a gynaeceum, from which any male presence is excluded. As the visitor can easily realize once s/he enters the room, women represent an obsession for the artist, and they are depicted in every possible form: from little girls to adult women, from Hellenic goddesses to biblical figures. Women become the embodiment of Eros, a mysterious power through which men can achieve knowledge of the world and subconscious. They are guides of Nature as well as initiators of the reality of the cosmos.

The last room, the Hall of Mirrors, offers a fascinating experience – it really feels like going through a mirror and losing the sense of space – but the best part is admiring the original paintings exhibited in there, as well as the gowns inspired by the textures of Klimt’s paintings, and created by the artist himself.

The exhibition will be available in Rome until June 10th, 2018, so do not miss the chance to enjoy the magical atmosphere of Vienna in the early 1900s and feast your eyes on shades of gold!
